I had originally intended to leave the floors of the Atomic Industry World HQ natural. The idea being that natural concrete works perfectly with our overall industrial look. However, the more I thought about it the more I didn’t want to deal with keeping natural concrete clean. I wanted something I could mop.

So I’ve been getting emails about these boxes for a couple of weeks now. The folks at Swivel Storage Solutions are working really hard to promote them… and while I think they are great looking, I’m not sure the problem exists that they are trying to solve. I have 70 year old Snap On boxes with drawer slides that never bind and open like butter no matter the weight within. Even so, this might be one of those products you gotta feel and touch before you can judge.

At some point, you have to trust your judgement in planning, your budget, your contractor, and everything else and just get to work. We reached that point a few weeks ago and began studding, wiring, plumbing, insulating, and dry walling the Atomic Industry World HQ. Much of this work is standard affair and I won’t bore you with too many of the details. There are, however, a few details on this building that need mentioning at this point.

This is off topic a bit, but pretty incredible just the same. An orthodontist on the HAMB is absolutely crazy about vintage cars and garages. So much so, that he decided to design his office as a tribute of sorts. He recently finished the project and you aren’t going to believe it. Check out the photos:
