A Few Changes… Just For You…

Hey fellas, you might notice a few changes here and there on The Garage Journal. Namely, we’ve redone the classifieds a bit. In order to make sure ads get their fair share on the top of the forum, we’ve taken away the ability for users to reply to the ads themselves. The original poster can still reply to bump their ads and make additions, but that’s where it stops. A special thanks to all of you guys that provided feedback. I really appreciate it.

In other news, we’ve also added a new HOT DEALS section to the site. Before, we just had a dedicated thread. Now, you can check out the forum dedicated to great deals and coupon codes here.

As always, thanks for everything fellas… Carry on!

The New & Improved Garage Journal!

Wow… that was one hell of a week. As many of you have noted, the performance of garagejournal.com hadn’t gotten to the point where at times, the site was almost impossible to use. The main problem was that we’ve seen such a traffic increase over the past year, that our servers just weren’t able to process the number of requests. During peak times, out database server would just give up the ghost.

As a result, you guys had to suffer excruciatingly long page load times and I had to figure out how to fix it. As you guys also know, we recently launched the Garage Journal Alliance. Thanks to the success of that program and to our sponsors, I had enough capital to step up the game a bit and you fellas are now calling pages from a brand spanking new server and host.

Anyway, I’m posting today for three reasons:

1. I wanted to thank you all for the support. This new hardware change was a big step for me and I couldn’t have done it without you fellas having my back. Thank you.

2. Durring the hoopla of the change-over, I lost some private messages that I just got back. They will answered shortly… sorry for the delay!

3. Also due to the hoopla of it all as well as some travel, I haven’t shipped new Alliance tags in two weeks. They will ship tomorrow. And extra special thank you to you fellas… It means the world to me to have your support.

That’s it… Back to regularly scheduled programing. Enjoy the new and improved Garage Journal!

DOGFIGHT Magazine!

We’ve recently introduced a new site to the Atomic Network and while it’s still currently under BETA testing, I figured I would give you fellas a heads up. DOGFIGHT Magazine will cover the American and European quest for speed. It will do so without a concerned focus on tradition, but an absolute dedication to performance. The premise is really quite simple and based around the very foundation of hot rodding – take something stock, whether it be a 1969 Camaro or a 2010 Ford GT, and make it perform better on the street, the drag strip, the road course, the circle track, or even the salt/lake bed.

Like I said, the site is still under development. I did, however, want to make you guys aware as I know a few of you are really into this kind of thing.

So, click here to ENGAGE!

Well, it’s done – the folks of The Garage Journal have spoken and Brad54 will take home the super sweet Montezuma tool box. I just wanted to thank all of you fellas that participated as well as Strictlytoolboxes.com for donating the box. This was a first for us and I think it was pretty cool.

Congrats Brad54!!!!
