I’ve been using the same floor jack for over 15 years. I think I bought it at a garage sale in Norman, OK… It has served me well through the years, but I’m finally ready to step up and get something that is more convenient. See, most of my old cars sit pretty damned low and the traditional jack just won’t get under them for the most part. As a result, I find myself driving up on old 2×4’s or anything else that can give me the extra lift to get a jack under the car.

I’m done with all that. It’s time for a fresh start.

What have you guys found in a lo-profile jack that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg?

Looking for some handy bench top organizers for your work bench? The Swedes solved this problem with some bitchin’ and reportedly indestructible “organization” boxes. I was first drawn to them simply because I love they way they look, but I actually got my hands on one over the weekend and can report back that they are made well enough to be miniature tool boxes.

Very cool indeed… I searched online and this joint seems to be the only place selling them ($100). Look around at your local surplus stores and you might be able to find them cheaper.

I stumbled on these garage doors and thought they were interesting. Essentially, they implement a man-door in a working/traditional garage door. At first thought, this might seem like a double up of sorts but in certain applications this could prove to be really handy.

We’ve recently introduced a new site to the Atomic Network and while it’s still currently under BETA testing, I figured I would give you fellas a heads up. DOGFIGHT Magazine will cover the American and European quest for speed. It will do so without a concerned focus on tradition, but an absolute dedication to performance. The premise is really quite simple and based around the very foundation of hot rodding – take something stock, whether it be a 1969 Camaro or a 2010 Ford GT, and make it perform better on the street, the drag strip, the road course, the circle track, or even the salt/lake bed.

Like I said, the site is still under development. I did, however, want to make you guys aware as I know a few of you are really into this kind of thing.

So, click here to ENGAGE!

Hi, My name is Wayne Chapman. I own an original Imperial Oil garage/gas station that was started in 1946. It has been my place of employment for the last 20 years, and it looks just as retired as I do. It looks like a late 1930’s gas station that was abandoned in the 1950’s. Thought you might enjoy some pics. Wayne.

In any case, thanks to Wayne for the great pictures of a wonderful old building.
