I have two spring pigs, but only need one for winter.
Yorkshire / Hampshire Mix Mmmmmmm

I am wondering if someone would like to cover the cost of a pig ($90) and feed ($20 / month) till January.

I'll do the work,
supply the pen
pickup the feed
raise it till winter
let you have your pick of the two pigs in January
then HELP YOU kill and process.

In exchange for a SMALL FARM TRUCK. :wtf:
Ranger or something like that to pick up feed and haul animals.

:eyecrazy:

Wherever the internet exists, idiots abound....

Even when ready to butcher, that crazy pig ain't worth half the scrap price on a Ranger... and who the tarnation pays $90 for a stupid feeder pig?!?

1 feeder pig........................... $90
6 months of feed @ $20/mo.... $120
Working Ford Ranger.............. $750 (if lucky)
Butchering fee (depends).......... $45
-----------------------------------------
total price......................... $1005

Fat hog ready to butcher = 200 lbs
Palatable meat approx 55% = 110 lbs
-----------------------------------------
price per pound = $9.13 / pound of pork :scared:

That better be some very, very fine swine...

I traded for a hog. Oh it will be fantastic they said, we have the best pork in 4 counties. What they fed this thing is beyond me but I'm guessing Toilet paper and gym socks. 100 pounds of pork that even my dog snorted and examined.

I think 2 rabid fire fighters with a door axe and the jaws of life could have processed it better too. Not much worth to the "free" pork I got for lending money.

Yea, but the guy wanted $90 for his pig plus feed... how'd you get the math down to $3.69 once you add the price of a ranger to it?

pig $40
6 mos of feed $120
asshole you have my truck you better butcher it $free
$160

figure value of cheap beater ready for scrapper = $200

$360 /100 meat =

I've rased a lot of pigs in my life. My dad had chores for me when I was young and three other farms in the last 20, or so, years. Butchering for meat should be in the high 60/low 70 percent area, if your talking a sausage pig 55 percent is right on. You guys are way off, I'd both sell a pig for what he wants and buy the ranger for what he's willing to pay. You go guy, good luck.
