Hmm, we haven't gotten those in at Autozone yet. I assure you, though... many people do buy the Great Neck tools... and are very underwhelmed. They do carry a lifetime warranty, though. I think it's one of those warranties that's in effect until the tool has reached the end of its useful life... ie- when it breaks :D

Surprisingly enough Great Neck is actually making Kobalt Screwdrivers. Read the Package, it says "great Neck tool company" and of course, made in Taiwan.

Its a big world, I know people that the only tools they own are the ones their mom stuck in a bag when they left for school. A couple screw drivers, slip joint pliers, crescent wrench, and a 99 cent hammer from the grocery store.
Any tool is better than nothing. I have several of the cheesy screw drivers, the $5 HF multitools, but can't say that I like or own any cheap wrenches, those can be more trouble than useful.

Exactly. I have cheap tools that have been around forever, but that really wasn't my point. I was really wondering who the marketing demographic is for flamed tools.

Ok guys, I'll admit, they made a set of screwdrivers (like a 6 piece set) with flamed handles, that they had at Lowes. They had them for $4 a set at some outdoor clearance sale that I stumbled on, and I bought a set for my dad, as a joke. Im pretty sure that he hasnt opened the lackage yet. The wrenches are even more outragouse. Funny stuff. Crappy tools Im sure.

Now that is just no way to talk! Some guys like me may have several sets and find that both insulting and insensitive!

The stupid thing is that (to me...YMMV) I could probably walk into Harbor Freight with 500 bucks, fill my shopping bags with hand tools, use Rubbermaid boxes to hold the things, and my life would probably be fine with using exclusively the cheapie stuff. I guess it's the joy of not having to deal with rusty old customer cars.

Forget cheap for a minute.
Would you buy wrenches that have flames painted on them...because...they have flames painted on them?

There was a box of the flame handle screw drivers at a swapmeet I went to today, no idea on price.
I wanted to post a funny comment but those Awesome Wrenches just can't be topped. With that said, Great Neck is certainly not the worst of the imported tools out there. The few Great Neck tools I have bought in a pinch from the parts store have held up ok. And the ratcheting screwdriver that was a checkout line impulse purchase (while intoxicated with the sweet smell of car air freshener) turned out to be pretty nice. I wonder if they have one with flames now.:headscrat
Btw- I believe Great Neck still does manufacturer at least some of their handsaws, chisels, and hacksaw blades in the USA.

I will agree that Great Neck is not the worts of the imports. And I too have a couple of their made in USA screwdrivers. Not great tools, but not terrible either.

That is the insulting thing someone thinks we will.
Here is how I imagine the conversation.
Of course they will sell the rednecks will see them and go.
Purty, Gota have em. Thin I'll get me two of them, they so purty, my little woman, is getting tired of wearin them blue ems I got down at the Sears last winter. Theyd sure looken nice for errins down at the race track.
Wed have a complete set, with those goldn ones and them blue ones from the Sears and them colered ones from the Harbor Freight. Hell give me three or four of them, one ofa the daughters gotta birthday commin up, goin to the McDonald's fora that, save goin down to the Walmart.
So what is the price gonna be. Hell, charge for them, the yokals pay through the nose for gold stuff from that Snap off or whatever the hell it is company. These have flames on them, its harder to paint flames than do gold.
So, I get insulted with someone expects me to buy this. I do understand the collectables hawked by Sears and the trucks. Do not buy them but understand them.
Then again I still look from pickups without carpets and a few other luxuries so I can wash the work or hunting dirt and grease out of them.
