I had a set of screwdrivers I got new back in the mid 80's that had the problem with the handles oozing. Just got off the truck and they swapped them all out for a brand new set, no charges, no problems, no questions. Also had 3 ratchets that were stripped out. Got a brand new 1/4, and they rebuilt the 3/8 and 1/2. Also swapped out a bit handle and pry tool. While I was on the truck I saw their cordless driver tool so I picked one up. It's set CTS561. Anyone have one? I have one of the batteries charging now so I'll give it a work out later today. Not bad getting a brand spanking new screwdriver set and ratchet I think.

The screwdriver handles were oozing oily water. I called Snap On and they said yes it was a known problem with mid 80's plastic tool handles. Something about the plastic formula, so they swapped them out for the new type.

Well it probably helped that I still had all my receipts for 3-4 thousand worth of tools purchased back in the 80's plus I opened a new account and bought something. I am not sure but I think their warranty might say something about original purchaser and for professional use or something like that.

I buy stuff off of the truck as well, When I warranty something they dont recall if it was something that I bought off of them. Never had a issue yet.

That cordless driver is great i have one too, prefect if you have to do dash work. I even zip up transmission pans with it. I would get this bit kit from the truck YA52PBSQC since you have the driver. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/objects_lg/40500/40424.JPG

Get a good big bit set, you'll learn to love the cordless snap on driver and the many things that it can do that make life easier. Anything involving interior work goes by quicker and with less hassle and no possible mess from dragging an air hose and ratchet through it. This has become one of my favorite "go to" tools now.

The battery on that driver lasts forever. It's great for under-dash work. Kinda like the modern version of those old black & decker cordless screwdrivers... Except with kickass battery life, and a lot more torque. :)
