I was in a maintinance shop at a local job, and they had three of these:

I really like it a lot. The thing is HEAVY duty, with very heavy guage steel. The vice shelf on the side is made from about 1/8" thick steel sheet. Its built like a tank. They are built in Ohio, it appeared as though all joints are all mig welded, not just spot welds.

I knew it has to be very expensive. I figured around $1500. I requested a quote from Pucel's site, and they refered a local distributor to me.

The cost of the 48" wide unit, with the 4 drawers and inner shelf is $710.

The upgrade to the side vice shelf is around $20

So I ordered one, with a shelf on both sides (for an additional $40 for both, I'd be foolish not too). They even gave me all 4 swivel casters (so I can easily get it in a corner, flat against the wall) at no extra charge.

I'm going to use this for my little fabrication table. I dont want to beat on stuff with a hammer on top of my Snap On stainless top (which is ironicaly the same cost as this whole workbench), so this is the answer. I'm going to have a local steel supply cut me a 1/4" steel plate to fit the top, so I can weld on top of it, and not damage the top of the bench. I'll finnaly have a properly mounted vice in my garage, and not just in the basement.

Only bad news is, they are built to order, 3-4 weeks till I get it. I think its worth the wait.

Looks nice, but I wouldnt want my vice on anything with wheels.

Well, at 357 pounds without the side shelves (which are very heavy, 1/8" steel plate), and without anything stored in it, and locking casters, I dont think its moving anywhere. I could always anchor it to the wall I'm putting it against, if need be.

Plus, it apparently has a floor-lock (according to the spec sheet).

Definitely interested in hearing how well it works for you. I like everything to be on wheels if possible. :)

I don't give a rip how much it weighs or if it has wheel locks, it will move if you put some torque on that vice.
