Some of you might have noticed for Michigan I've waited kind of late in the year to get my shop construction started........anyways, best case scenario it will be up and floor poured within two weeks from now.
I've heard quite often that you MUST wait at least a month for the concrete to cure before I can consider painting the floor (two part epoxy)........
Any of you have a good working knowledge of this time frame? I will be looking close to Halloween if that is the case and it might be getting darn cold by then. Thanks in advance........ Keith

I looked at several epoxy products and they reccomended between 27 and 45 days. I think you might also get into a cure temperature issue that late in the year too. Rustoleum and I think U-Coat-It have all that info in their spec sheets online.

I am just breaking ground on a house in MI with a 3.5 car...should be in around May so depending on when they actually pour the floor I'll be doing it just before or just after move-in. I think I'll go with the Sherwin Williams stuff.

Muddy - you are right - 30 days.
From building water plants for years, we always used epoxy & special coatings and followed the 30 day rule to allow the concrete to "cure out & breath" most of the time if schedule would allow - 45 days.

I'm not positive but I think there is an additive available from your concrete supplier that will allow the mnud to cure a little faster...you can always ask. The floor should be 50 degrees or warmer to use the epoxy.

28 day is what i"ve heard to. I don't go by the rules. I started build two weeks after my concrete was poured. But my garage isn't anything like what you'all built. Mine is a tight 20x24, now a 26x24 with the new lean-to....
