With the possibility of not being able to get Sherwin Williams expoxy, I'm looking for plan B.

Saw online that Sam's has Supercoat epoxy. Just wanted to see if anyone has seen this IN the stores. Shipping this stuff will be pricey for me.

I WAS a Sam's club member, but never saw it IN the store. Now I'm a Costco member.

costco is such a cool store. THey have some pretty good deals on things. Besides food or w/e, You can pick up duracell batteries for pretty cheap there, and they sell dewalt tools, amongst other brands. Many people like thier stainless steel toolboxes too. I got the mega jug of go-jo there and The thing is like 1 gallon, but it cost what 4 of the little bottles do, so it was a great deal, especially considering the amount I use that stuff.

if you get the executive level membership (i think) you get a rebate on the money you spend. if the costco near you has gas, usually 5 to 10 cents below market, just the money you spend on gas will pay for the membership.

gents,

Let me fill you in on a little secret about Costco. They have a lifetime return policy on everything!!!

From big screens to garden tools! Now I cannot confirm this, but I've heard/read of people returning stuff to costco YEARS after they bought it and getting their money back! As long as you have your reciept.

I've done it myself with a portable DVD player, 8 months after I bought it. Just told them it quit (which it did) and they handed me my cash. No hassle about sending it back to the manufacturer, warranty, etc...

I think that the policy is that a customer is worth more than a singel product.

Now I buy ALL my electronics from them. Not to mention that the KIRKLAND batteries and trash bags are rated highest in the cost vs. performance arena according to Consumer Reports.

AND, costco's policy is everything is marked up 17%(?), not 20-40% like other stores.

AND, they usually sell very good quality stuff (no Chinese junk, like WAL-FART).

AND, this I'm not sure about, need to do a bit more homework. Supposedly, if a price ends in $XXX.97 (instead of the regular $XX.99), it's an unadvertised blow-out item, marked up only a few percent.

please do your own homework

This is the number one reason I shop at Costco. Not to mention the quality merchandise and great prices. I have the executive membership and I get money back every year and my membership is paid for.

I will confirm your rumor. I was at a Costco in Laguna Niguel and a loud Aramanian guy was complaining because his wife did not want their 8 YEAR OLD patio set anymore. He had the balls to tell the clerk that they want to buy a new set because this set was getting old. he had his reciept (which he did not need) he got a full refund of $9XX.XX I was in line behind him and my jaw was on the floor. The Costco clerk argued with him for a few minutes and the manager came over and confirmed their policy with the clerk and she processed the exchage. However I have had 2 electric pressure washers fail and they gave me a full refund even after a year of use. I now have the Gas powered pressure washer with no problems.

If the tag ends in XX.00 it is on final clearence last mark down. On floor models they will give an additional 20% markdown if they are not going to replace the item with new stock. If there is a "*" that means the item is on Clearence but not final markdown. Also if you buy something today for $100 and within 30 days you see it on clearence or final markdown for $50 they will refund the difference. After 30 days you need to buy the item at clearence price/final markdown and return the old item for a full refund as a return on your original receipt. We went through this with two living room chairs purchased for $399 3 months later they were on final mark down for $150 so we went home picked up the reciept bought the chairs and went to member services and returned what we just purchased with the old reciept. Got a refund for the difference!

It's their rules. Great store and they get over $10K in business from me every year.

Great info. Now I know when I should jump on the item! What I hate about Costco is that what may be there one day may not be there the next. I thought the 1.25 gallon car wash solution was a year round stocked item. One day, it was all gone! They just had a pallet full of them just last week. When I asked, they said it was a seasonal item and won't be back until Spring. Say what? People do wash cars year round you know. Anyone know what they do with the stock? Do they have some huge warehouse where they store goods until the time is right? The only things you can count on being year round are batteries and milk.

I wonder how long this will last. Home Depot a few years back used to give cash back without receipt so long as the item rung up. Now it's store credit at the lowest price. Even if you do have the receipt, after 90 days it's still store credit. If the abuse keeps going on at Costco, you can be sure they will start looking at ways to prevent this.

"Saw online that Sam's has Supercoat epoxy"

Wow you all got sidetracked a little. Anyone know about product in question?

I used Rustoleum brand epoxy on my floor and it has lasted fine and still looks good after 3 years. It is reasonably priced and available in most home owner store such as Lowes and Home Depot. It was also easy to apply and is not toxic.

Not to resuccitate a dead horse but has ANYONE tried this epoxy before?

I saw that BMW tried last year to get an answer and/or info on it to no avail. The info on it "reads" great but I want feedback from some sucker that tried it first before I do ;)

Thanks

My neighbor used rustoleum epoxy with flek and it looks good until... you park on it with hot tires. The heat from the tires will leave marks in the epoxy.

From reading about it, looks to be a water based epoxy, those typically aren't as strong as solvent kits.

I used it about a year ago. So far it's been ok. The one thing I don't like is the glossy topcoat, as it does lift from the epoxy with hot tires, and is not gasoline resistant. The epoxy itself is holding up fine, just not the clear topcoat. It covered well, prep was easy (I did have new concrete though) and like I said, the epoxy itself has held up fine, much better than my neighbor's Rustoleum. YMMV....

BTW, here's a link to the mfg website. I did have a couple of questions when I first got it, and they were very responsive and helpful with questions.
