No its like the viper they were advertising, and I wouldnt be at all surprised if it was rebadged because of the IDENTICAL draw configuration, but its in that flier they sent me.... its craftsman

They have quite a few new items in there. In terms of things I cant live without... those new slim head wrenches... I got 1$ that says they are the same internals as the matco 60 tooth slim ratchets. They are supposed to be very very high quality.
Jim
Those slims dont attract me...if I wanted a slim I would go elsewere

Ever use one? They are very nice, and they dont feel like they are going to break when you really get on them. Probably one of the best craftsman tools made

Yes I have...if I was going slim I would go Heyco or Stahlwille....they make strong slims

Remember... highschool here. I cant afford german tools lol
Jim
Well then save your money....and not take what you have and get the first thing you can afford like the Craftsmen line...most of the time it could just be a few bucks more....I know you have and like good quality tools....its just a matter of holding back just alittle longer for the better quality product

Yeah, thats true, but I cant imagine trying to get a german tool waranteed though. ITs doubtful that it would ever break, but still...
Im perfectly happy with my SK stuff

I love my SK stuff too...there is alot of European influence in how the SK products are done....well before Facom left that is

Yeah, but I cant wait to see what SK does now... I mean, They even said in that press release they were limited in what they could do in terms of new tool development

I think you will see more adancement in what they already have....hopefully they dont try there luck in powertools or air tools

Id love to see them experiment with an air tool. I dont know how it would work out though, but still, you know it would be quality

They would use someone elses and slap there name on it....I think they are fine the way they are....and not go out to far....they should perfect what they are doing

Hey Jim, didn't see this post first, I just commented on them in another post, I think it started out something about blue titanium finished ratchets. But, yeah, they're definitely the best Craftsman tools made and also the best ratchet made, IMHO. And I own a lot of different ratchets, SK, Snap-on, Mac, pro series Canadian Tire, etc, etc.

I will agree on the SK ratchets....they arent the best quality....for some reason they dont worry about the small things on these.....but my Facom and Allen ratchets I love

Where is the best place to buy Stahlwille ratchets? I'd like to try one of those.

Jim
They are shipped from Germany to the US headquarters and then to the customer

No US dealers though?
Jim
Not that I know of....I think they supply directly to the automotive industry instead of going through distributors

no... just them furrin' ones.
I dont have the kind of $$$ you guys do to be buying german tools though. Eventually I will, but Im still working on building up my tool collection, and SK will work for me

Again its about saving those few extra pennies...instead of saving for SK go for the next level and then go from there....your knowledge will be even better
