Thin guage steel, 9 drawers that dont fit half of my tools, friction slides.
When I saw it, I wanted to cry.

That is your excuse. The box is too small and with your limited foot print you would like something larger instead of buying a second matching box in order to house all of your tools.

Anyone want the worlds smallest tool chest? It's good for storing nuts and bolts
I kid I kid... It breaks my heart to tell her it's a piece of crap and I dont want it.

Take a plasma cutter to it and then tell her you accidentally broke it and need a bigger/beefier toolbox. :shocking:

Find something to use it for. She meant well and she's you mother. Now, go out and buy the one you wanted.

I had a roll around like that at first, now I welded up a little frame for it and turned into a very nice welding cart.

I'll give you $40 (Can) for it.

its the thought that counts :)
you will find a use for it and as your garage tools grow, will laugh about this one and use it a lot for something.

My wife bought me a two piece Craftsman set similiar to that right after we got married. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it was more than I had. Plus she was trying to do something nice for me so I wouldn't have even considered giving it away. I filled it with tools then just added more cabinets later.
Always be appreciative when someone gives you a gift, especially when it's your mom. Use it, make her feel good and add another cabinet when you can.
I have one like that, I keep what I call "Implements of Distruction" in it :lol_hitti
Also welding supplies, grinding disc, etc... stuff that'll bang up a good box and eventually distroy a cheap box. Notice the crow bar hanging on the side. I did lay carpet in the draws so I can drop stuff in without worry, the drawers are so thin they dent real easy.
I keep the good stuff in the Craftsman.
Excuse the mess, re-arranging at the moment.

I hear all the time that BB is so much better. Personally I don't mind the friction slides on my Snap on box. I would almost go as far as to say I liked them better.
On topic: If it makes you feel better, my mom got me a bird feeder and a bird watching book. :wtf: I don't watch birds.
I haven't lived with my parents in 16 years but they know the rules. You don't have to buy me a gift but if you do it should say Craftsman on it some where.
