I got the JEGS catalog today and the HF catalog(coincidence?!? :headscrat:bounce:) and I've been noticing that a lot of the Jegs brand tools are pretty cheap. Anybody know the qualtiy of them? Standard HF chinese style or small step up Taiwan style? I'm looking at page 128u and seeing a 7 pc air hammer set for 14.99, 1/2" impact for $19.99, a 4 and a 5 pc pry bar set for 18.99, 3 pc 3/8" extension set (8",3", 1 3/4") for 7 bucks, etc.

The only thing I've actually used from them is a distributor clamp wrench for around 8 bucks that as fine, but I'm sure it was imported, but maybe a step above HF.

I like those hose pinch pliers for 8.99 and their gloves are $10(p. 126)

and some thread chasing tap sets (p 132) for $15 for either coarse or fine thread.

Anyway, any thoughts?

Heh yeah thanks Merkava! Still can't keep my grubby fingers from that catalog though...my mom lives right next to the JEGS owner's spread in Ohio(she lives in a condo near his ranch/farm/whatever it is) anyway that guy is paid!!! They have aJEGS store in columbus too, I stopped by, way too many knowledgeable people, they must lose money like crazy on that place...like the anti-autozone..anyhow..
