I broke the one on my CH 1/4" air die grinder.
I am looking for another and it turns out they cost like $20?
Or am I looking at the wrong place

OK, you're talking about the collet that the mandrel inserts into correct? What's the make and model of the die grinder?

Don't feel bad, I have an IR and the 1/8" collet shattered. It's not only not on the parts list, but IR acts like I'm a moron and keeps giving me the part number for the 1/4" collet that IS on the parts list.

I've been much happier with Aircats stuff anyway, I'm just going to buy one of them.

I don't think the collet would be proprietary of CH; I'm thinking it's probably a universal part that's standardized to fit many types of die grinders. I would check with my local tool repair shop first before I got on the horn to CH. I'm thinking it should cost somewhere between $2.00 and $6.00 at the most.

If that break-down is correct your collet is not a separate piece it is called the "spindle" in which case you are going to have to get a direct replacement. Most die grinders I have come across use the same kind of collet but I have yet to find a name for it. I also know that the industrial die grinders use a double angle collet, which is very nice and much more precise and readily available from most places hat sell tooling for mills.

As for an 1/8 collet, I have seen one, one time only. But I have seen the adapter as is listed above as part number 25.
