I'm thinking about one of these for general use, from transmission to water heater, opinions? Its rated at 500 lbs and on sale for $89.

My sister bought one. She likes it.

She uses it for Dog food, from the truck to the hopper, and anything else heavy.

She's in her fifties and living alone, so she got it to save her back on 40 lbs and up lifting.

She changed the wheels, something she has done with about every cart/tool box she gets, so that she can move it around in packed dirt, for moving things around the yard.

I'm going to stop by and take a look at it today. I need to replace my water heater that sits on an 18" platform and I am thinking it might be just the ticket.

They didn't have a 500 lb lift table open, but got one out of the warehouse part of the store for me to look at, arriving on the $270 1000 lb rated lift table, which is a mofo of heavy steel. Apparently they have a couple of the 1000 lb lift tables that are used around the store, and the kid I talked to said they worked great, but the release knob took a lot of twisting force to drop it down.

500 lb unit is smaller, wt 43 KG, platform size is 27 3/4 x 17 5/8, min height is 9" and max is 27 1/4, which strikes me as slight small and slightly limited. For now I am not buying until I know what the base of the water heater is like.

I considered buying one of those for my motorcycle project.

the bike is only 300 lbs, so i think it could work?

Weight should be no issue, fitting well on the platform is what I would worry about.

Buying the stand specifically made for a motorcycle is bound to be more convenient, but also maybe only useful for the motorcycle.
