I'm going to be doing some metal work. I'll be making a patch panel or two for my floor out of flat sheetmetal, and welding in some inner rocker panels, some patches at the bottom of the rear quarter panel just before the door, and patches panels above the rear wheel wells.

Do I need/want to get a pneumatic flanger for this type of work?

I was thinking the punch might be nice tomake quick work of spotwelding.

I've got some paintucation vids and he whips out a vicegrip type flanger and goes to town with that but I'm not sure I wanna muscle those things. Makes my hands hurt just watching him.

So for what I'm going to do, do I even need one? I'm not 100% sure if I should butt weld or use the flanger on the outer body panels.

I bought one when I started my bronco restore and it has been worth 10 times what I paid for ,just for the hole punch for spot welds. I drilled them for a while until I bought the punch. The time saved is unbelievable. I can have all the holes punched by the time I get the bit chucked up. The flanger is nice also.
