picked up some taps today...but can't get much info on them

5 are "CW Rod Tool"

here is an example of one label

"CW Rod Tool Co., LP; QP17857; 1 3/8"-8 H5 4 Flt. Plg 8 Pitch Hand Tap"

I went to CWRT's web page and tried to search...nothing...Google

3 are "Union Butterfield"

here is an example of one label

"1 1/4 - 8 NS; GH-5; 10-13313; 4 FLT 1505"

again, nothing on their website or google that brings this up

any thoughts? - thanks!! - ED

Yep, You got some big ass taps there.

1-3/8" major dia x 8 Threads per inch, H5 tread limit with four flutes

the other tap is a bit smaller at 1-1/4" OD also 8 threads per inch and H5 thread limit with again 4 flutes. The QP17857 and 10-13313 is probably a manufactuers code or model number.

Does this answer your questions?

Dam big taps.

ended up calling CW and UB - apparently, the models are still good and being sold as new...but neither website was up to snuff in finding it -

for interest, the CW above is $51.17 and the UB is $165.88

thanks! - ed
