Wow... you could land aircraft on that toolbox Krusty!

I have an old Cornwell wrench like that combo sitting around somewhere.. and I also have a New Britain taht bears a striking resemblance. Anyone know if there was ever any connection between Cornwell and new Britain?

not aware of a connection with NB but they do bear a striking resembalance to MAC'S older non polished wrenches :headscrat

That's a beautiful, succulent, mouth watering delicious box!

The Cornwell wrenches I have were made sometime during the 90's and they have nice rounded edges; nothing like a MAC. I'll try to get some pictures of them up later.

Yeah.. you're right. I went out to the garage to look at the wrenches I was thinking of... not even close! Well, maybe the handle profile is similar... that older MAC/Cornwell squared-off design. But I snapped a few shots just so you guys could see the effects of aging on my memory...

Krusty and eschoendorff, from the looks of those wrenches, they could stand a little Snap-On tool wax.

Krusty, nice box!

Well now, I only have one other suggestion, it has worked for me over the years.... work on oily greasy things, wipe tools off with a rag.

I guess HAZET isn't the only company that did not polish up and chrome their tools to a mirror finish! Historically, I wonder if Snap-On really has been the company to start the high polish, blindingly bright, chrome finishing on their tools; to set themselves apart in the market place and increase sales? Any comments?
PS: that is a nice box; how are mac boxes compared to snapon/matco? I have a Mac top/bottom that are the smallest they made in the mid 90's; I have been happy with it and impressed by the how heavy the guage steel was. It has compound slides; I just bought a cheap crapsman box and the ball bearing sliders are nice to use. If only I could afford a uber monster box!
