Not sure if anyone is interested in these but online only priced at $20 after you add them to your cart. I think I remember a review of the regular Extreme Grip wrenches and althought gimky, they seemed to work well. I don't think you can beat a supposidly US made, six piece ratcheting set for $20.

That is the review I remember reading about these. He is writting about the regular, non-ratcheting ones. I'm guessing that the ratcheting end is the same as the regular Cman ratcheting wrenches, which everyone seems to like.

Yeap me too. Now I'm pissed caused I got the same message for the 56 Gearwrench screwdriver set which I actually wanted. They have that online for 17.99 TBW.

I just tried ordering the ratcheting wrenches, and four sets of the gearwrench screwdriver package for local pickup. According to the site, everything was in stock and available for local pickup. I'm crossing my fingers.

He's right. They have several different ratcheting wrenches. The newest, fully polished ones have the finest gear mechanism. The older ones are more coarse.

I think the ratcheting end of the extreme grips are more coarse.

Am I reading this wrong? I thought the design of these extreme grip wrenches allowed the user to use a ratcheting motion (it only applies pressure in one direction) not that there was an actual ratcheting mechanism. I'm not sure what your statement about it being more coarse means then. :headscrat

the box end is a ratcheting box. The open end does 'ratchet', but there is no mechanism. I was referring to the box end. The original Sears link is for the ratcheting box end.

Craftsman make another type (or did) of a ratcheting type of open end. Biggest POS in my box. They are more of a pain to use than handy. All I can say is they have a nice box end on them.

Don't worry, I got this on 2 orders in the last few days, both went through within 24 hours or so.

I tried to order these Extreme Grip Wrenches too together with some other items. Sears Online Store wont even allow me to check out unless I remove this particular item from my cart.

Those look like the "extreme" version of the clunky raised-panel ratcheting wrenches that Sears sells... I'd pass....

Looks like a fun set of wrenches for cheap. I have had a few instances where I could have used the grip part on a old car a few times. I figure for the price if they are okay sweet if not only $20 bucks for ratching wrenches. Now I need to find the matching sae set so they are even :).

Just got a email from Sears saying I can pick up my order.

Just called Sears. I was told they do this because of CC authorization or something. The guy had to resend me an email that my order was ready. They are really starting to piss me off, this is the third online order in a row that hasn't been the smoothest transaction.

I promise that it is the coarse version. I do not like those, they have a very crude feel to them.

Yeah I picked up my set tonight and just moved that ratchet part. I dont like it, thankfully I have the normal gearwrench set for ratcheting if need be.

Picked them up today. Have to agree they do feel 'crude'. My five year old set of Cman SAE ratcheting wrenches feel much better. But I do like that these are quite a bit longer then a standard Cman raised panel for more leverage. I definately would not have paid more then the $20.
I am very pleased with the Gearwrench ratcheting screwdriver set I also picked up. Very smooth action, we'll see how well that holds up.

I picked the SAE and metric for a good deal.. the ratchet end have maybe 32 to 36 teeth so it is "coaser" then regular craftsman or gearwrench. But they are meant for higher torque applications so maybe the coarse teeth is needed to handle it.

I can't comment too much about open end end, it is a strange action like a bottle opener only the reverse, it takes a bit getting used to, also have to make sure the bolt is really the size for the wrench or it's just going to slip right off.
