The first two ebay links appear to be cheap enough ...

Not terribly deep, and 12pt, but it is cheap:
http://www.amazon.com/Fuller-507-6442B-12-Point-Standard-16-Inch/dp/B000BDG91K/
Also this, in 6pt:
http://www.amazon.com/Great-Neck-SO516-Sckt-1-5/dp/B000CMDS6O/
Otherwise, just take a look at this search for stuff that Amazon.com sells directly:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=%221-5%2F16%22+socket&x=0&y=0&emi=ATVPDKIKX0DER
The KD Impact sells for $16, which is probably a lot less than the auction will end at, if you include shipping.

None of those are deep enough. Personally, if it's nothing highly precise, I've just bought a cheap impact socket, cut it in half, welded a piece of heavy pipe in between and went with it. Quick, cheap, and you can make it whatever length you need.

This is for the locking nut on a motorcycle hub and needs to fit over the whole axle sticking out the side. Could be a job for cutting in half and welding on a pipe.
Thanks for all the suggestions, one of them is bound to work.

Yep, we had a 2.5' long 1 1/4" socket we made at home for some farm equipment. You would think the welding would make them frag easier, but we never did shell one.

I'm sure it's welded together, too.

That looks pretty good, but I wonder about the diameter inside.
