So far as I can tell the difference is that one trio has the levers set to 'on' and the other is set to 'off'.

I bought one of the 3/8" low profile when they came out, and then when they had the 3 pc 80th Ann set on clearence I picked them up. When I went to stick em in the toolbox I noticed the handles are different.
The original one has a thicker handle than the newer ones, Where it tapers at the end of the handle the 80th one is about 1/4" . Where the older one is about 3/8" " wide at the end.
The older one seems to be alot better, it has been used alot more and the action is tighter than the new ones.

Sears is so screwed up, even their links are slow to load. :rolleyes2
A complete waste of money! Do yourself a favor, pick the drive size you need the most and get yourself one REAL ratchet!

I like I bought them when they were 99 and I love them, the sets are nice. Not snap on, but for the money I liked them and better then the raised handle crafty model. Also don't add to much grease it does cause it to not ratchet correctly. I put a little mobil 1 in it and they work great and for the money are the nicest ratchet, why can't snap on make a set to compete?

As far as I've observed, the set that goes for $79 is the catalog version. The set that goes for $99 is the in-store version which is usualy on sale for $79. The 80th anniversary were $99 originally, but dropped to $79 on sale and I think $59 once or twice during the holiday shopping season.
Not that I went to Sears a lot and drooled over them a few times.
Notice how the $79 set isn't instock anywhere.
