Is it on the website only or in-store also?

I 've never been in their stores so i don't know that end of the deal. I found the special on their website. It isn't as good of a deal when you add in shipping and tax but it is still $20 off on the normal price of their 48 tiles. Maybe someon else can help us out about the in store price and we can save the shipping cost.

Weren't they on sale for like $1.75sf about 3-4 months ago? $2.06sf is still a fine deal.

what was the previous decision on these Costco tiles? Are they just re-branded RaceDeck, or something else? I was thinking about picking some up as well, but cannot recall what the final verdict was on these in comparison to RaceDeck, or the others.

Any input?

They are the same exact product as Race Deck. The diamond plate pattern is deifferent though. Snap Lock industries makes all of the tiles Race Deck, Moto Floor (Costco) Sears version of the product (I can't rember the name) and Garage Deck (overstock.com) All of them have different texture patterns however they will all interlock. I actually used the race deck edge pieces sold by griots garage with my Costco Moto Floor. Don't let Race Deck fool you it is the same exact product. I LOVE my floor you can't go wrong. Easy install, looks good and durable.

Which is the flooring you're taling about? Under the car or the whole garage?

I think his whole garage, he just used three different colors. If you look close you can see the same pattern on the black and white.

I agree. It looks like he has a mat under the car. I just bought the motofloor tiles and installed them. Here's a link to the finished project. I am doing a lot of changes to my vette in my shop. When the vette is done it will be the shop's turn for themake over.

Thanks for all the insight on the motofloor. This is good for me as I am trying to decide on my flooring options. Right now I'm choosing between G-Floor coin pattern from Better Life Technologies or motofloor/race deck type solution.

Do the tiles "creak" when you walk or drive on them? Since the design is interlocking, how well does it hold spilled liquids on the surface?

How mobile is the floor surface with the diamond pattern - can you roll a floor jack or a craftsman rollaway cabinet pretty easily?

Thanks,
Mike

At Costco they have hardwood install kits that they sell for around $30. I used three kits they are basically rolls od thin foam covered in plastic. I used the material wall to wall before installing the tile. The job was fun and easy. It was pretty quick too cutting the edges of the tiles with a table saw tool the most time. They cut real easily it is just time consuming. Use a fine blade too. The tiles will make a clacking sound against the concrete if you don't install a padding.

Rolling floor jacks cabinets, etc are a breeze no issues. If you go this route you will need special jack stands. Griots sells a set of four for around $100. The feet have round metal disks. Regular jack stands will peirce the surface of your flooring.

I highly recommend the Moto floor. It has the biggest impact on people when they see the garage. There are always questions about the floor. It is also a great surface to walk on has some spring to it and getting on the floor under your car has never been so nice. It makes the garage feel like another room of the house.

I installed my Costco floor last weekend and it turned out absolutely great. I had about 12 tilles left over and decided to use them as a base on my chrome-wire shelves rather than leaving them in a box. As it turned out I did not have enough of the edging to finish all of them so I called Snap Lock Industries in Utah (the manufacturer) to order additional edging. During the course of the conversation I asked the rep if the Moto Floor tiles were the same as Race Deck. Her answer was "They are a cheaper private label product and are not as thick as Racedeck". Since I only use the garage to park my cars, they are perfectly fine and worth the price differential..

I replaced the coin pattern roll out product from BLT Industries and what a difference. There is no comparison between the 2 products.

I am trying to figure out what to use. Please explain the difference . I was interested in the coin flooring.

Was the problem the thickness ?
I did like the fact I could order custom lengths to fit my application.

Not surprised Motfloor is a different thickness. You alway's have to be careful of Home Depot, walmart, Costco and others because they have products manufactured for them with inferior quality to obtain a lower selling price. When they say they'll meet or beat a lower price you can't because they all have serial #'s / model #'s for their poducts that you can't buy elsewhere. Example cheap John Deere's and cheap Generac's.

Moto floor is the same exaxt tile as the Race Deck product just a different texture pattern and limited to three colors. I used Race Deck edge instead of the moto floor completer kit. The thickness is the same.

I have samples of raced deack and they are the same thickness.

The coin flooring expands and contracts much more than you can imagine. When it does you will end up with seams that separate, rolls and bumps in the floor. Keep in mind that I live in Sacramento, CA where the lows in the winter are in the Mid 30's. I can only imagine what would happen in climates where you would approach zero. The thing that I really did not like was the fact that the black rubber from the tires transferred into the BLT material and leaves a permanent black mark. I tried lacquer thinner, acetone and brake cleaner and nothing removed the marks. The problem is that the BLT is polyethelene vinyl that will stain which I discovered after using it. The tiles are polypropelene plastic that is much more resistant to staining. I was very disappointed since I was trying to dress up the floor and ended up with a green floor with 12 large black stains on it.

So far the tile is not staining and does not have significant contraction issues. The finished application of the tiles, I did the black and white checkered pattern, is much more finished and richer looking than the mat. In addition if a problem occurs with a tile it can be replaced which is something that would be next to impossible with the mat. By the way, don't get me wrong the quality of the Moto Floor tiles is top notch---there is noting cheap about them.

I hope this helps.

Sandoval,
Could you elaborate on how much of a difference there is in the pattern/texture between Race Decking & Costco. (photo would be great).
I currently have Racedeck down and will be adding more to it in an addition we are completing. I would be connecting the two flooring surfaces together.
