Completed some major wrenching on my Disco last week and in the process put a few of my chrome extensions through the paces by my 3/8 IR 2115 impact and 1/2 BluePoint impact. I have been using my oldest extensions when I can and this Cman one did not survive the first full blast from the IR 2115. :lol_hitti

So after this little surprise I started thinking about getting some impact extensions. I did some looking around and the Grays sure look like a great deal but then again, my old SO chromes didnt seem to show any wear.

What do you guys think?

Oh yeah, I sure am glad I was wearing safety glasses

I have a set of the Armstrong locking impact extensions just to try to keep stuff from flying across the floor and they work great. I haven't used Grey Pneumatic's impact extensions but, if they're like their sockets, you should be ok. I think impact extensions are a good idea when using a Titanium series impact. The higher performing impacts beat up some chrome extensions and sockets fairly quickly. I think impact extensions are definitely worth having depending on how often you use them on an impact and the quality of your impact. The last thing anyone needs is pieces of shattered tools flying around.

Impact extensions will simply mushroom instead of shatter. I have a lot of cheaper impact extensions and a few Craftsman... I use them more than I use my chrome ones. In fact, if I were going to buy extensions all over again, I would get impact extensions exclusively for my straight ones, and then fill in with chrome where I need wobbles, etc...

I second that, it would've been the smarter way.

I have a set of Craftsman impact extensions and a u-joint. Makes it a heck of a lot easier to get to things.
