Does anyone know of a source for vintage logos? Specifically SK-Wayne, Snap-on and Craftsman? I have a few old metal socket boxes and the original logos have long since been worn down. I’d like to make a few new ones via a water transfer decal, but I can’t seem to locate any good pictures. I’ve tried emailing SK, have not heard back yet, plan to send an email to the others today. Also tried alloy artifacts, no luck there unless I missed them.

Thanks,
R

I can probably help you with most snap on logo's, but most snap on decal logo's were from the 1920's. Besides those, there are only 2 or 3 decal types, that were used in conjunction with an embossed logo on the metal boxes.

You might ask Bill Hardin at Home Shop Supply.

He has created some great repro decals for the old Dunlap and Craftsman 109 lathes. I don't know what he would charge for some one-offs but is a great guy to deal with.

OK now I have to attack this answer from a different angle. If you can get a good picture image of what kind of decal you want and check with a few printing shops I think you will find that most will scan your image and can create a spot on duplicate for around the $20.00 mark in most cases; generally it is the first that is the highest and quantities after the first the price generally drops. I have seen guys with antique tractors and other machinery do this before.

I would say a big ol no to that one, I figured I would be the only guy to remember that, but clearly you foiled my plan! :lol_hitti

I'm looking for good images of the logos for just that reason. I want to make some water slide decals. I need the are to do it. My logos are worn to the point it would take me too long to reconstruct.

The link to the craftsman logo above is what I want to do.

Krusty: The logos on the alloy-artifacts web site are more the die marks on the tools, not the decals found on the cases. I can post a pic tomorrow of my SK box.

hholmberg: that's what I want, original images. Like this, but the vintage ones:

Chad S: any jpgs or eps or what ever you send I'd appreciate it. g1k at roadrunner.com

wilbilt: If it comes to that I may ask, but I really want to do this myself.

attached pic is the kind of image or art I am looking for, olny the vintage versions. t wold be great to find a site with the sk logo as it progressed through time, along with snapon, channel lock etc.

Thanks for the suggestions so far...

I have a old SK toolbox which has the old style SK metal plate on it. I can take a pic and send it if you think you may be able to use it.

Does it look like this?

A good centered photo may help a bit...

The logo I am looking for is a waterslide, not the plate. I'll try to grab a picture of it tonight.

Ya didn't ask for Bonney, but this is a good example!

Nor did you ask for Plomb, but here they are anyway.

G1K,
Yes, that's the one. It's a little bigger since it's on the outside of the box but it appears to be the same design.
