I had the box wrench set on page 49 of the catalog. Deep offset on one end, no offset on the other.

One of the box ends had split on the deep offset end, and I got rid of the entire set in a dumb deal about 15 years ago. I regretted it almost immediately.

It is quite handy to have deep and zero offset on the same wrench.

Thanks for the link, UB!

I love the prices. A 142 piece set for $214. That was probably a lot of money in the 40's.

Interestingly I have two catalogs from GRAY-BONNEY (1941 and 1942) and they have the exact same photos and product numbers as the BONNEY catalog.

Cool stuff. I wonder how you happened upon those links. Somebody spent a LOT of time scanning those pages.

I do not recall how I came upon that site, but I keep it in my favorites for occasional reference.

I kept reading double hexagon sockets. I assume this is how they referred to 12pt sockets, correct?

No I think that is the drive they are refering to.

That catalog is really cool!

I especially like teh price list at the end....

Now, on page 71 of the catalog, they have a razor knife that looks similar to an old Craftsman that I have... but they show a blade positioned sideways in the knife so that it can be used as a scraper. I really like that, mostly because I really hate those retractable "zippy" razor scrapers.

Wish I could find a knife like that one...

Warranty disclaimer on page 2 is quite explicit on not covering "abused" tools.

Yeah, I noticed that too, and found that really interesting. I suppose the warranty issues that we discuss every day are nothing new. If anything, the tools companies have relaxed their policies quite a bit. I wonder if Bonney actually enforced that policy, or if it was just one of those things you put down as policy on paper only?
