I bid $10.60, but I had no idea his max bid was $10.59. I almost feel guilty about it. :bounce:

DAMN!!! you won first before i post!!! sorry to heard that you lost the snap on catalog while moved...
I'm missin' something here; it says the winning bid was $10.59. And I don't think you can win an auction by a penny, can you? There are minimum bid increments that escalate, but aren't ever that low, or are they?...

First highest bid wins. Guy had a max bid of 10.59. Merkavas previous 10.60 bid wims as his bid was under Merkavas. If he had bid 10.60 Merkava would have won as his bid was put in later.

You sure can win by a penny. Lets make a hypothetical example.
The item has an opening bid of $10, no reserve, and the bid increment is $1.
Bidder #1 bids a proxy bid of $15.55. There is now a bid, and the first bid shows as being $10.
Bidder #2 must bid at least $11, as thats the next bid increment. If Bidder #2 did bid $11, the high bid would now be $12, with Bidder #1 still high bidder.
Now, if Bidder #2 bids $15.56, he has well exceeded the bid increment amount, but he is still a higher bidder than Bidder #1, even though its by 1 penny, he is the high bidder, and if the auction ends that way, Bidder #2 has beat Bidder #1 by a penny!

Look at the history, you won by the bid increment, which was 50 cents, this auction was not won by a penny.

Nice win. You should be more careful about giving away too much ebay info... it seems that there is a new ring of thugs who seek out screwdrivers to unpolish!
Hmm, what are your plans for the catalog? Finger through it and then put it in a comic book sleeve? (I'm not being sarcastic.)

It's got a lot of good out of production stuff in there. I needed it for the part numbers for eBay hunting. :)
