If Snap-on made something like this, i'd buy it.
Seriously, i would.

Seems like a good idea to me, i'm sure i'd use it.
But not a cheap crappy one. Maybe a Snap-on one with a Streamlight LED in it.

Uh...
I'd bet $$$ that if Snap on were to offer one of these, it would be a licensed product (same as the AmPro) with a Blue Point label on it...

I would laugh if someone took one while using and clicked it to on or off when removing or installing a bolt. lol

Well that sucks.
Guess i'll have to stick to Snap-on extensions and my Streamlight Stylus Pro seperately. :(

Moose, come on now. You just bought a nice Snap-On tool box.
Give it a rest...:lol_hitti
Assuming decent quality and reasonably bright light, I could see it as very handy. Maybe they could offer a set of 3 (1/4 3/8 1/2) sitting on their own little charger stand.

He can't help it; almost everything he has is Snap-On! Ok, Moose so when are you going to get Snap-On wrench sets? They sell for between $150-$250 US dollars; compared to all the $$ you spent on those screwdrivers, I would assume the prices on the wrenches aren't too bad! What are your next purchases in the Snap-On line of tools?

Craftsman had lighted 3/8 and 1/4 extentions that look like a spark plug socket with a drive insert in the end. The light comes on when you insert it into the socket. They are OK for straight sockets, but not with wobbles. They use an AA battery.

Those were the first ones I saw. They didn't look that well built, and I didn't see any others that looked better built. I figured they had a high swap out rate and the gimicky factor, and disappeared.
In the area's that I believe these would be handy, I use either the magnetic inserts, or some magnetic sockets, so I don't lose the bolt/nut. (since you can't always see it)
I agree with Moose though, if someone built a decent one, I would buy stubbies (1.5" or less) to go on whatever extension/ratchet I needed.

I have to admit i bought the 3/8" and 1/2" extensions just on sheer amusement factor and they actually do come in handy. Only problem with them is that the times i really need a light are in tight areas, where i can't really fit an extension and socket, so i end up using the streamlight stylus.

OOH!
How about... a ratchet with an LED in it, and extensions with fibre optics in them? Even flexible extensions would work with this method!
Eh? how about that?
Am i the daddy or what?
