Anyone know how old it is and the value? I had to take it apart, clean and oil it, but now it seems to work good as new.

Dang you beat me to it. The ratchet is worth between $30 and $50 on eBay. If its engraved then about half that.

the value? :
$40-50, these are worth more than the standard handle, the ball ended version is desirable.

I have an KF936 with the flared end, mch prefer it over the ball-end ratchets. I guess some guys find the ball ended ones more comfortable?

Cool! Thanks for the input, guys. I want to keep it, was just curious about the age and value. I bought it in a lot with a bunch of other tools. A woman I worked with, her husband passed away so I went over to her house one day and picked out the tools I wanted and paid her for them.
When I first tried to take it apart, I couldn't get one of the screws to turn so I sprayed some penetrating oil on it...this was at least a couple weeks ago, forgot about it, then last night it was sitting on my desk so I grabbed the screwdriver and it turned right away.
I figured I could always swap it out with the Snap On man, but I wouldn't get back a ratchet as nice as this one. :)

I have the flared end 936 version myself, and have no problem with it at all, I use it more than any other ratchet as its great for the quick mock up of body panels Ive been doing for a year now.
A lot of people seem to prefer the ball end, but I'm going to be upgrading to the 80 tooth version, not going to an older ball end. But if they did have a ball end or flared end 80 tooth, Id probably go for the ball end.
