I ordered a new pump and motor to put on my old tank (7.5 hp). I'm getting back into gunsmithing and will need to spray some coatings and sand blast. My compressor is only 5 feet from the blast cabinet, I was told being it's so close a water seperator is useless and I should buy 50' of copper tubing and leave it coiled and go from it to a water seperator then to the blast cabinet or to whatever air tool I'm using.

I'm also going to be spraing my coatings in a screened in room (I have no choice, I don't have the garage space to do it in there. I will be using a small pancake compressor, what can I do to keep the water and oil out of my paint gun? I'll be using either a small HVLP touch up gun or an air brush.

Sherwin Williams auto paint store has these small one time use filters you can attach to your gun. Not sure how good they will be; no doubt it will depend on how much oil and water is put out by compressor.

On the 50' of coiled copper I would think 25 or 30 feet or 3/4" copper would be plenty.
