Superness is the only explanation I can think up.

That's not bad almost $56 plus $6.85 shipping for a wrench that lists for $40.50. Will the insanity ever end? I hope not until my auctions end.

Turns out the winner is a seller on ebay with his own store and has pro tools listed for sale; go figure! Maybe he thought he could make a profit?

Are we talking about the rays of sunshine hitting the wrench just at the Snap on logo as the wrench lays on a dingy piece of cardboard? Yep, outstanding. Of course, whatever it takes to get a bidder to pay over retail has to be considered successful.

I think there are probably a lot of 20 mm wrenches in "like new" "mint" condition out there. I know mine is.

I check ebay all the time, and I watch auctions to see what things sell for. It always amazes me when things sell for more than new. I see Snapon stuff sell above retail so many times. I think people buy from ebay just to say they got it from ebay. Collectible or rare things I can understand but current catalog stuff blows my mind. Recently I have been trying to add to my tool inventory replcing some of my Craftsman stuff with some truck brands. I check the Snapon, Mac, and Matco sites for the current price and then I don't bid on things that go over about 60% retail. I watch the auction till the end and laugh when someone pays more the retail. Plus the insane shipping some people charge. ($9.99 to ship a 1/2" socket) PLEASE!!

I would be willing if it was atleast 1 1/2" and I happened to use it fairly often.

You need to save the $60 wrenches for LS6 Chevelle convertibles. It's the Malaise Era cars that get the HF.

This stupid Snap-on stuff on Ebay just doesn't suprise me anymore. I've been slowly building a 1/4" Snap-on drive set through Ebay for about eight months now and have lost more auctions than I can count because idiot bidders are willing to pay almost full retail (and sometimes more) for Snappy tools. On the other hand, persisance pays off as I have a pretty nice set for about 30-40% of retail. And about 1/3 of the stuff is new with the rest being in very good to excellent condition. Time and patience is the key to good Snap-on finds on Ebay.

Last week I won two new Snap On 1/2" dr. extensions, an SXK3 & 5 for $21.50 plus $5.00 & change shipping. I bid 50 cents more than the other guy. They haven't arrived yet but I think I done good.

As for people paying too much for stuff, I remember a few years back at Christmas time I saw a Leatherman multi tool at Sears for $50 & a few days later I saw the "exact" same tool at a Harley dealer for $80. Oh, but it had the H-D logo on it! I guess if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

I have two wrenches that are $179 each and several others that are around $150. When you use your tools for a living and it is the only thing that will work then you don't have much choice unless you want to buy cheap ones and cut and bend them to work. The problem with that is when you go through all that work just to have the wrench spread on you.

What a strange deal. Maybe it's insider bidding for whatever reason?
