I was at Home Depot the other day, and they had metal-cased Belkin surge protectors on sale. It might be a local thing, though.
I ended up with a 4 foot 10 outlet chrome power strip with a very short cord, and a typical looking 6 outlet strup with a 15 foot cord.
In other words, power tool charging station will now be installed at the back of my desk, and the 15' surge will be used for power tools.
The thing, I cannot find links to these "workshop grade" power strips on Belkin's website. That's not why I posted though, I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up. I saw a diamond plated strip at Lowes but it was open-boxed and felt cheap and flimsy.

Yeah, what they said?
Is this similiar to the Gladiator by Garageworks power strip?

To be honest, I don't remember the prices and cannot find my receipt. It was more a mark-down than a sale.
I went to another HD near me today because I was in the area and looking for a new surge for a computer. This one didn't have the 10 outlet 4' strip, and the 6 outlet 15' one was $16 I think. So it's possible that the 4' strip was clearanced and the other one was marked down only at that one store. Actually, I think it was about $15 or so, so maybe $16 is the new price everywhere? I have no idea. (As you tell, I've had a long day and my head's about to implode).
I'll take a photo of the surges and upload them in a few minutes.

The power strips aren't entirely metal, but they do feel a lot sturdier than typical plastic surge strips.

That long metal one looks perfect for the shop. Can it handle a full 15A?

Was finally able to get to my Home Depot Saturday night, and they didn't have ANY long power strips.
Sucks. These looked perfect for my shop...
