Stuff getting stolen :(

My old man had his favorite pair of channellock linesmans stolen at work. And a klein #2 square screwdriver. Stuff like that really grinds my gears!

What about you? Ever had a favorite tool stolen?

My problem is students(I work for a college and have a partialy student workforce)taking my tools and leaving them out in the unit. I usually find them a few days later, after it's rained on them a couple of times, or the lawnmower finds them

I worked with a good crew of 4-5 guys at one garage,new guy started and we started missing stuff.After a "shop meeting" one night after work,we had our stuff back and the sticky fingered newbe had a couple of broken fingers and was looking for another job.From what I heard a couple of years later,he still hadn't learned his lesson and was doing time for stolen cars- Some guys just don't get it.

Yeah, getting **** stolen is just wrong. But sometimes people leave stuff out, and its partially there fault. I know a kid who leaves his garage open constantly, and he complains because his **** gets stolen. Not saying its your dads fault or anything, I dont know the story, but Alot of times people get a little too trusting. I see it at the track all the time. There are 2 kinds of people. Those who leave thier stuff open and those who lock up thier trucks and trailers. Ive seen people who just leave snap on and mac tools just out in the open, and on work trays. everybod cuts through everybodys pit area, and it wouldnt be to hard for somebody to just pick a few things up at a time. Its not so much the other racers, but People who come and watch drag races walk through our pits as well, complete strangers. I just dont get it.

Well my dad is an electrician. He left his pouch where he was working and went to get some equipment to install. Came back, and stuff was missing.

Are you sure its really stolen? Maybe somebody just borrowed it and forgot to return it because they got distracted or something. Maybe it will turn up.

The place I work now (Mitsubishi) is unreal in a good way. The maintenance guys leave their boxes unlocked most of the time and rarely have anything removed. It's amazing to me that a massive box stuffed with good stuff never gets messed with but everybody there has major respect for the maintenance staff.

Thieves ****, for sure. I had a 2 month old race bike stolen from me three years ago, but they left all the tools and more importantly - parts in the trailer. Got the bike back a month later - long story. Lost a gear bag, a few tires and a near-new helmet but got the bike back.

You think THATS bad? A guy I know who runs nationals was out in Ohio and they stole the ENTIRE TRAILER! They had a trailer lock on it, but they just used chains or some other deviceto secure it to the truck or whatever and dragged it away. Got away with the trailr, 2 karts, 3 motors, countless spare rims and tires, cordless tools, small generator and thier tools. They Were out almost 20k. That was in the beginning of the summer and they still haventheard anything. Insurance covered it, but still. Thats bull****.

Thieves ****! Glad to hear you at least got the bike back
