A lot of people have asked about a good torque wrench. The older Snap-On dial wrenches can be found on Ebay for a bargain. Take a look at the deal someone won tonight. Anyone on the board prefer the dial torque wrenches?

Worth the price of having it calibrated, you decide. In a critical situation, I dont think I'd trust that old of a torque measuring tool as is.

I just got an old proto dial wrench calibrated for $30 that even included a new front glass window, I have a indicator at work to check torque to see if it is in spec, Most tool trucks have something similar on the wall of the truck as well

If you got it for $27 and paid $30 for calibration, you're out $57... still less than buying a crappy Husky torque wrench at Home Depot.

Its $369 from Snap On, how can you tell the age of the wrenches, same model TE250L? What about the light feature, curious how well it works?

I guess the SNAP-ON Torqometer was the "must have" wrench for decades. If recalibration is only $30, then it's a worthwhile purchase. Some older mechanics still prefer the dial type wrench over the click and digital versions.

I thought it was much more to have them calibrated, I guess I was wrong. I think snap on charges $75, but then again, they charge a premium on everything I guess.
