P.S. Don't forget to turn your ratchet off before storing it! :lol_hitti

I'm open to offers, not a gray lover but work bought me this to replace a stolen ratchet.

40 teeth which is considered fine tooth by gray standards. They build a coarse ratchet but also about the toughest I've ever used.I had a 6' pipe on a gray 3/4 drive one time with two guys pulling on it,it didn't break!

That is a good looking ratchet! I wonder why they don't sell tools in the US or do they?

They do sell Gray in the States. My closest distributor in NC is 75 miles away though! Explains why I see very few Gray tools in flea markets and pawn shops around me.

Its a looker ! The gear switch looks real close to the one I have on my williams 1/4" ratchet. Also with phillips screws. Nice smooth head.. reminds me of proto ratchets.

Thanks for the link. I found a dealer around 50 miles from me, maybe some saturday if there open I might take a drive and look at the tool selection. Definitely some nice looking tools!

How much are those ratchets and what is the model #? Again looks close to Snapon; these ratchets seem to have similar genetics!

Well, here is a flyer from Gray Tools showing a price of $36.95 (US Dollars $35.25) not too bad; one thing they say it is that it has 40 teeth!

I saw that in the sales flyer and was concerned that maybe it was a Asian ratchet. Its good to see it is still made in Canada, as some of their tools are starting to become imported.

I like the new head shape and may have to pick one of these up before they go back up to $56 after October 31.

Yeah,I'd say by the feel its still homebuilt, still has that heavy gray solid built feel to it.

Thanks Caper for dangling a carrot in front of me.:bounce:

Lord knows I don't need another ratchet, but I couldn't resist and just bought one. It is a great visual improvement over the non-sealed head version and feels much nicer and the 40 teeth are an improvement over my 20 and 32 tooth versions.

One thing I did notice is that the older ratchet heads were made the exact same width as Grays largest 3/8" sockets (1" and 26mm), I wonder if that was by design?

Here are a few pics showing some Gray designs. Ratchets are as follows:The far left (T57) was in use from the late 50's until around 1970, the next one (T88)is from around the late 80's until present, new 2008 sealed head (T90) and a Snap-on F936 for comparison. Dates are an estimate.

I'm missing a T35 and a T70 if any one finds one they want to sell let me know.
