I have the chance to buy a used large Cornwell box. Large chest with two side boxes. Who make these and how do they stack up to the SO's, Matco and Mac professional size boxes. I'm in California and Cornwell is not big in my neck of the woods. How is the resale value of them compared to the big three? Thanks for the advice.

Our Cornwell dealer showed us two boxes he had on his truck and I was fairly impressed. It is comparable to the Snap-on master series, better than the Classic series. I ended up getting a Snap-on ONLY because of the options and extras available. He opened up the bottom drawer and jumped up and down enough to shake the truck. I was impressed with the construction and warranty but not with the options such as color, sizes, and end cabinets, lockers that I could eventually add on.

Cornwell is top quality equipment. If you're including modern day MAC and MATCO in the "top three", I think Cornwell surpasses them in terms of quality, dependabilty and price.

It depends on the age and model of the box. Some boxes were made by Kennedy others were made by Remline. I have a 60 inch wide top and bottom with a side box. I got a decent deal because the dealer wanted to put a box into the dealership I worked at. I've had mine for over 6 years and it has held up nicely. Cornwell boxes usually go for less than half of new price. They don't seem to hold their value as much as Snap on or Matco. That doesn't make them a bad choice. It makes them a great bargain. Good luck,
