Ok,so I bought three snap on ratchets on ebay the other day, seller quotes me 26 bucks for shipping via ups.In the past I've shipped everything I bought thru usps, never had a problem and only been hit for duty once for 5 bucks. The ups guy comes to my door and wants 43.45 for my parcel. Not thinking I assume its duty, pay the guy and away he goes.I open the paperwork on the package and find out they are charging me $43.45 as a BROKERAGE fee.I didn't even have any duty. They are charging me more for a brokerage fee and what I origninally paid for shipping than what I paid for the ratchets!Usps is usually in the 15 dollar range for shipping,UPS has cost me over 70 for the same thing. It'll be the last time I ever deal with the SH*TTY BROWN TRUCK!!!!!!

I've heard that UPS across the borders is not something you want to do.

Last USPS shipment I had (within US borders), it went to to GA instead of PA - showing up happily delivered on their wonderful "tracking" webpage, even though the same page showed my address correctly. Also, nothing was shown about what address it was actually delivered to. I did have a package delivered by DHL once that went to South Front Street instead of North Front Street - but at least that showed up on the tracking page and I was able to go and collect my package.

Never use UPS to Canada they will kill you in fees.

As for USPS they have cost me a fortune in fuel where they say they can't find the house. Then I have to make a 50 mile round trip to pick up the package. (I live about a 1/4 mile from the main road on a private drive with about 8 other houses on the lane all marked with 6 to 12 inch high numbers.)

I never used USP for international shipping. But for domestic services, UPS has always been my choice. It is all because Fedex ***** even more.

What Fedex has done to me before:

1) Lost my air-line ticket, and I had to pay a full airfare in cash and paid a $50 fee to get some points back from the airline.

2) Leave my passport in the rain. It end up being soaked in water.

3) Fedex lost my digital camera.

4) The Fedex guy in my area does not know the difference between I and 1.

In contrast, UPS hasn't given me any trouble so far.

UPS is the absolute worst way to ship from the USA to Canada. Whenever I ask for a shipping quote I will specify USPS only or I am not interested. They charge a brokerage fee, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and duty. With USPS you may get charged GST and a $5.00 handling fee, but usually you don't have to pay any extra.

If someone offers you a cheaper quote with UPS don't take it. Pay a little more and go with the USPS, you will save in the long run.

In my opinion: UPS ***** .

Domestically, UPS can't be beat for price and all but internationally including Canada, go with USPS. I had a package I wanted to ship to New Zealand and it was 130 via UPS and 14 via USPS ..
