Hex to Square Adapter Set

What do you think of these?

Often times use these with the cordless drill, or screwdriver in the case of the 1/4 more than I use the air rachet. My cordless drill has more torque than my c-man air ratchet.

Just want to know. Helpful tool or gimmick?

I have three sets I got from HF 1/4 - 3/8 & 1/2 they are great with a cordless drill I use them all the time.I keep one set in my service truck the other 2 stay in the garage much like ratchets its nice to have more than one so you dont have to change sockets constantly.

I use them in my cordless drill and I also have a air drive that takes the hex drive. it can get into tight quaters better than an air ratchet can

I've got all three sizes for my cordless drill and Bosch Cordless Impact Drivers. They really speed up repetitive assembly jobs where you have to drive a lot of nuts/bolts - like 2 weeks ago when I had to assemble 5 push carts at 30 bolts each.

I need to get a set of the Impact Rated ones for the bigger of the two impact drivers.

I have them in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2" drive sizes. I don't own any air ratchets, so these adapters allow me to run nuts on and off bolts/studs with my cordless drill drivers. Very handy! I've been using them for about 10 years now. I even made some from old square drive extensions before the adapters were commercially available and used them with my corded drills.

I use the 1/4" size all the time in my bosch impactor. Great for taking things apart and putting them back together because in general you don't need to hold a wrench on the other side for a nut/bolt. Great for stuff like outdoor power equipment/small engines.

I need a set of those for my PS-40, and some with socket ends, they're awesome things to have. For rocker covers, timing covers, dashboards/interior work and stuff they're so handy for running nuts and bolts out quickly.

I've had good luck with my 1/4" adapter and standard sockets rather than the integrated nutdriver style ones.

Really like mine too. Despite having an air ratchet I pretty much either put on of these in a drill or more commonly use a ratchet. The air ratchet becomes too much of a hassle most of the time. Maybe when I get a roll up hose reel.

I use the 14.4v Craftsman cordless impact,and both of the adapters worked ok.Then I got a 12v Dewalt with the same quick-coupler.It would twist off,or just twist-bend the 3/8 one.(ok on the 1/4 one,though) The 14.v is rated at 850 inch lbs.The 12v is rated at 1200 inch lbs.,so I concluded that maybe the working limit on the 3/8 one was around 1100 in lbs.I'll bet it wouldn't be a problem in a non-impact drill,though.I saw in the latest SO catalog,that they offer the 3/8 one now,so I wonder if that one holds up ok at the higher torque?

I use one about everyday in either an 18v Ryobi drill or a Bosch impactor. I have never had a problem with them, other than everyone borrowing them. I got them from Harbor Freight and they work great.

Easily worth the $2.99 that Sears charges. They are really handy to have for repetitive tasks.
