its used to make your extensions into a specialty tool... ie get a crows foot and 2 extensions turn them into a carburetor wrench ...

well at least that's what it was supposed to be used for ...

I have a couple of those. They can make an impossible job possible sometimes.

My mate has a few of those, they're handy as hell in the right situation where nothing else will do the job. Times like those, they're worth their weight in gold.

They look like they would be used to do things like make your longest extension, into a breaker bar, if you didn't have one long enough.
But that would put the stress on a tool, in a way it wasn't designed for (more apt to break).
