You find a ratchet that is the size of a 1/4" ratchet that the tool mfg put a 3/8" drive ratchet mechanism in. They are made that way, you do not do it. Check truck brands first, that is where you will likely find one. Mine is Snappy but I do not know if they still make them.

yeah, I don't think you do it, it comes that way. Here is one on ebay

The square drive and gear are all one piece. If you have a 1/4 drive ratchet and that same ratchet body is also available in a 3/8, all you do is swap out the gear and the cover plate with it's larger hole. :)

There was a post in the past few days where someone posted the part numbers to do it with.

I'm trying to find a decent one to go with the compact 1/2". Yet to find the right one. Maybe i'll have to wait until they make a 3/8" in a 72-Tooth. :(

You can buy the ratchet, or some 1/4" models can be converted using repair parts intended for the 3/8" drive model. This can be a good deal if you have an extra 1/4" drive ratchet that will accept the 3/8" kit.
Snap-on calls this type of ratchet "Compact" ratchets

SK calls them "Slim" ratchets

The other "truck" brands offer them as well.

Not a fan of Swivel-Heads. Any idea if/when we'll get a 72-Tooth 3/8" compact?
That would be ideal for me, a standard handle and a flex-head one.

there are no plans yet for a 72 tooth, but it wouldn't surprise me if i saw them after they run out of the 936 bodies

I bought this a few years ago. Has saved the day (or at least made it a lot easier) quite a few times.

Just a "regular" 1/4" handle with a 3/8" drive. I like it!

I like the SK version of the one Malibu Posted.
Handy tool the have around, and its the kinda thing where you CAN live without it but now and then it will make a job easier.
