Read messages showing up as unread

Not sure if this was talked about before but...

After I read a bunch of stuff, close the browser window and come back, the messages appear as unread. Any way to get around this? I don't believe this happens on other forum sites. I often change computers and/or open/close stuff all day long, so I never have the same browser window open.

This happens when I look at the new posts.

I agree! I find this to be a real pain. I hope someone has a solution.

I'm still researching a good fix for this one. I'll keep you guys posted.

Try hitting the "Mark Forums as Read" button at the bottom right before you logout. It will mark ALL of the messages as read though.

Not to sound cranky, but has there been any progress on this? "Mark Forums as Read" works fine if I read everything. Often, though, I have not and it's a pain trying to figure out which ones I've already read.

I checked on this and there is nothing I can do, it is just the way the VBulletin software works. There have been a lot of requests for the developers to change this, so there may eventually be a fix in a later version.
