Any ideas how much a Cornwell 1/2" Flex Head Ratchet is? I'm looking at the SRF76 with or without a handle.

My SR70 1/2" non-flex lists for $112 so I would guess $130.

So, I was under the assumption that Cornwell was cheaper then everyone else; has this old "rule of thumb" really not applicable anymore? When I was working at a body shop in early to mid 90s you could say Mac was cheapest, then Matco and highest being Snap-On.... This doesn't seem to be the case anymore; I've seen some items where Snap-On is actually cheaper them Matco... is this true in the current situation? I would like to hear from you guys that are on the trucks all the time....

I was hoping it was going to be a little less expensive. I have been looking for a Long Flex Head, that is more reasonably priced.

At $122.xx, it still seems a bit less expensive than a Snap On... do you have a Cornwell rep in your area?
If you are seriously looking for a less expensive flex head, I would also look at GearWrench.

The Cornwell SRF76 ratchet lists for $124.95 in the 1 April 2008 price list.
If you're looking for a 1/2 drive flex head ratchet, you may want to consider:

I prefer the older Craftsman fine tooth round head 1/2 flex head ratchet model 44983 than ran $33.99 but, it's not listed on the Sears website any more.
The Gearwrench 1/2 flexhead ratchet mentioned by others would probably be a good choice too at about $45 on Amazon.
If you think you might break the ratchet through use or abuse, I would opt for a Craftsman model just for ease of warranty replacement. Good luck in your quest.

I just checked with Sears, and they tell me that the 1/2 fine tooth round head flex is only temporarily out of stock, and has not been discontinued. It is supposed to be back in stock in two to four weeks. If you keep up with the RHFT ratchets, they go out of stock very regularly, only to show back up in a few weeks. That is a good ratchet, Craftsman hater or not.

Cornwell puts there hard line on sale alot in their monthly fliyers if you can find a dealer in your area. This ratchet goes on sale about twice a year as they rotate most hard line stuff through the flyer. The prices will be about 20% off. Snap on lowered some of the hard line prices about a year ago because of sales slump in hard line products. Everybody is going up because of the price of STEEL.

I think Cornwell is a good value when buying used. When I mention Cornwell to people they don't know what I'm talking about. I'm glad, that means I can get more deals.

I've noticed ebay prices have been going up since people on this site have been talking them up.

Probably so. I avoid ebay for tools. I've run into some pretty good deals locally on used Cornwell though.
