Lost both bids for these on EBAY today.

I really wanted the Ducks unlimited ones. Went for $154.

Never thought the DU set would have gone anywhere. Are you a big hunter?

I'm not much of a hunter. I think its the fact that this is a reasonably rare set of S-O screwdrivers.

Also, still being in the box with the hat... Well that would really make these very collectible.

I wanted the d-u screwdrivers as well but knew they were going to get steep.
I have too many other things on the WTB list to worry about another set of screwdrivers.

DU drives me nuts.

They lobby "don't develop here", but the area has duck clubs with million-dollar yearly memberships.

This might be a 'you suck' award but in the last week I've picked up two 5 pc sets of hard handles NOS for $45 / ea. One was a racing edition set and one was a 80th anniversary set.

Ive pretty much come to the conclusion that if I want to keep buying hard handles in new condition, I'll have to buy them 1 or 2 at a time. It ends up being a lot cheaper than these full sets, minus the plastic tray is all.

LOL. The German guy wearing the white in the picture on the right played the nihilist and 'Karl Hungus' on 'The Big Lebowski'!!!!!

Agreed...the full sets in new condition in the plastic tray are fetching huge money.

I sold a 8pc set last week on ebay and it went for $228.00, I was very happy but I would never pay that much for those.

I listed my Indy 500 pearl handle set of 5 on ebay, and they didn't meet the reserve. They got to $66 and stopped. They are new in the package, and even black handled screwdrivers will usually sell for more. I'll use them for chisels, since they have no value to the Snap On collectors..

Darn, I don't know what's wrong with everyone. IMO, those pearl handles are just as nice, if not nicer, than the black handles. I don't keep up with the trends but I would have guessed that they would have brought you tons of $$.

$150, but what the reserve was set at didn't effect the lack of bidding. A few weeks ago, a set that was in the original tray, but not sealed, sold for approximately $175 (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Snap-on-Tools-White-Plastic-Combination-Screwdriver-Set_W0QQitemZ290263799560QQihZ019QQcategoryZ43992Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). A closed set should definitely be worth more???

Ebay sales are odd, I have had identical items sell for more and some way less; some people get into bidding wars... they just have to "win"! Reserves are your friend, relist and see if you find a different group of "Snap-On freaks"; that just can't live without your item!

Just keep relisting them. Then if no one buys them, I will bid them up to $200 (but won't pay you). Then relist them again and I bet you will get $150+ for them. Kidding, of course.... but I see similar things all the time on eBay.
