:headscrat:headscrat Ok I know plumb tools made tools for the army aircorps but did they make tools for other branches such as the navy I found a socket marked plumb USN NAF-1110-13 . When I did a google search for it all I could find was a aloy artifacts link to a snapon on one with the same #s which they said they think was used for spark plugs. It is 1/2 drive has a cadeum finsh and is 6 point but the broching is only about a 1/4 deep

I don't know but you might check out these pages dedicated to the history of Plomb and their tools; you could email the admins of those sites as well... Good Luck! :)

Likely. The 40's era catalog shows servicemen from many branches on the cover and says "For Army Navy and All Industries." I have not seen a navy marked item, sounds nifty. Post a pic if you can.

Aparently, they won contracts with the Army/Navy and won "E" rewards, whatever that meant: http://plombtools.com/CompanyHistory.aspx

"E" reward info: http://www.history.navy.mil/library/online/e_award.htm

Jim, make sure you are searching for "Plomb", not "Plumb"; they are two entirely different tool companies.
