Eventually I'd like to combine my 3 boxes into one large mobile workstation. The vast majority of my stuff is SK, 2 of my boxes are Waterloo (cheap ones) and 1 Mac (economizer 2000, cheap too).

I can't help but think that you get what you pay for... meaning the cheap ones ARE cheap and Chinese (SK55111?) and the expensive ones are good.

Anyone own a SK box? How old is it? What do you think of it?

Waterloo makes all SK boxes. So this is the same box as they carry in Sears at an inflated price for Black paint and green handles.

When looking for a box smaller than a 41 in set local shopping is almost critical. The general rule is that it costs about $130 to ship a small box. With that in mind how "cheap" does a box need to be made to be compedative in price with Sears, Sams or Costco.

Yeah, linkmaster(), that is the one. I was 99% certain that 99% of boxes were rebaged. On this assumption, a month ago I went to Sears and looked at the Craftsman branded version. They wanted $699 or $799 for it IIRC.

That is just too much money to spend on something that feels so flimsy. Maybe CL is the way to go...

Sams club has about 4 or 5 differnt brands they carry. My local one has a pretty good stainless 41 in set for $700. I am going Monday Ill take a pic with phone and get the brand of the box.
