It's pretty rare for me to find tools at a thrift store let alone so many for so little but here you go. Scored the whole set with dented Challenger case for $10.00. This purchase caused quite a stir as one woman that worked there had not seen it. She was saying thing like "if you want good karma you should give me some of those tools." She was clearly upset. For a moment I thought she was going to try to deny me the sale. Perhaps, because it was a Christian thrift shop she let it go. Then one customer at the counter said with a sad tone "I almost opened that." He too looked annoyed. Well it was a good find but I could use some help getting the rust off.
The carpet makes it kind of hard to make the tools out but I don't have all day to make a fancy display. The larger Craftsman wrenches were made in Japan. The ratchets are crap but most of the tools are US brands like Ridgid, Williams, Diamond, Indestro Super, Dunlap, ViseGrip, New Britain, etc.. Check out that Klein & Sons driver (almost 17" oal).

Try soaking the rusty tools in vinegar. Only takes about 24 hours for the lighter rust.

I think you should return the carpet and get your money back....

Thank you. I'm quite pleased. My cheap tool scores have been slippin' as of late.
Some of the wrenches were made by HTD (Japan). They look like 1980's era wrenches, similar to Craftsman. You fellas ever heard of 'em.

Some are soaking in the Evapo-Rust. I might try vinegar but I hate the smell of it.

Yes, she did but there was no humor in her tone, just a big fat "you suck."

I knew that was coming but you're probably right.

I recently learned about using dried molasses as a rust remover. I haven't tried it yet, but I did buy a 50 pound bag of dried molasses at Tractor Supply for $15. It is on the list of things to do when I get the garage cleaned.

Let us know how that goes. I'm interested.
