What to use for bring chrome back to life

over time, ratchet and all the chrome tools get light scratches all over and chrome become dull. what do you guys use to shine it up again?

Although Merkava probably has some secret family recipie blending different fluids together, I've used Flitz semichrome polish with great results. It's wipe on, wipe off, and the results are great with minimum effort.:beer:

it may be ok for your ratchet but for really nice chrome wenol and flitz are too abrasive. good old turtle wax chrome polish for the nice stuff!

OK, I admit, I buff some of my tools.

I use a SLOW SPEED 3/4 hp Baldor. I don't want my tool heating up and losing temper.

Usually use white rouge for nice chrome tools.

I polish my used tools on the buffer when I bring them home. I use the black and the white polishes, not sure of their names.

That's what I have and use .. if it is a very light tarnish, Meguiars plastic cleaner works good also ...

Very fine Steel Wool seems to work well at cleaning chrome.

000 steel wool does wonders for chrome trim pieces. For tools I suggest using them more and thus being able to buy another set just for display.

I do. I bought some Snap On impact gloves... they were about $35. So far, they have lasted me a good long time and are still holding up - even after welding with them. I would buy them again.

You guys can make fun of me if you want, but my hand get really dry and cut VERY easily. Wearing gloves is an absolute necessity for me.

Anything nasty gets hit with the grinder mounted wire wheel, I forget the wire diameter but it is light, after that it goes to the buffer and is polished with Brownells 550 polish. It gives me practice for when I have to polish gun parts.
