well I finally gave in, they had been teasing me as I had found a shop that sold them, Also they were cheaper than I can get from ebay.

So after a few weeks of thinking about them, yesterday I bit the bullet and went up and bought them.

3 slotted drivers, 2 posidrive and a number 2 phillips

I used them yesterday quite a bit, they are excellent. You can all to easily strip out sheet metal/plastic with them as they torque up very easily, the anti cam out grooves actually work as well.

The handles could do with being a bit bigger for my hands but they are much better than any other handles I have on drivers.

I am going to buy a number 1 phillips for the case as theres an empty slot and I do use a 1 phillips on things.

Here are a few places that carry them; average price seems to be $29.99 for a set: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Wera+lasertips&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

That search only leads to a whole lot of UK retailers, most of which I've never heard of.

The only US distributors I know of, are Amazon (REALLY limited selection), McMaster (unconfirmed) Chad's (won't do business with them unless I have to given the many poor reviews of their service and shipping times) and Jamestown Distributors, which I'll give a try eventually.

I'll likely order one size from McMaster just to give the handles a try and for comparison purposes.

Nope, especially not Nestle Aero bars, Doctor Who DVDs, certain books, and I'm sure there are others. =P

Somehow I failed to look at your location before asking where you purchased the tools. I would have thought that Wera was more available in the UK as is usually true for European tools.

chammyman, just think... that set was made in Germany shipped all the way to the USA, went to a USA distributor and made availible to the American buying public... cheaper then you can get it! Were is the logic in that? My brother used to sell Volkswagens in the USA; German airmen who train in our area used to buy their cars here and ship them home... why? They were cheaper in the USA, then in Germany!

they have brought back the Wispa bars which is superior to the Aero.

As for dr who...

You would think we could get european things easily but we can't. Online is where you can only really get decent stuff.

I wa son ebay germany the other day and wich they would accept bids fromt he UK, the amount of hazet, klann, gedore etc stuff is great.

An old bloke I used to work with would buy an apple every day.
Then, before eating it he would say "How can they bring this from South Africa and sell it to me for 6p?"
He never could understand the scale - like a few million apples in one ship.

Whispa is a rip off of Aero that Cadbury's brought out when Aero's patent (on a chocolate bar!) ran out.

...and they know that the stupid British will pay more than the savvy Yanks. So they charge us more.

must have been a long time ago for a 6p apple Frank!

15p is the cheapest you can get them here.

Wispe is slightly different, its denser so theres more chocolate but the aero tates better. I'm in the mood for a mint aero now.

Indeed we pay it so they charge it.

Been lookign about for the screwdriver I want and its about 6 quid posted, I know its daft but I grudge £6 for 1 screwdriver

I have used them for a few more things today and I really like them

Ever since I went to Germany I got addicted to "Ritter Sport" chocolates that I had when I was there... plus who can resist Nutalla Hazelnut spread?

That Hazelnut spread looks like dogshit, and I mean that literally. I changed the kibble my dogs eat and the result is right there, on the bread. What does that spread taste like?

Nutella is SO good! The problem is you can practically feel your arteries shuttin' down and see your waistline growing.

I've had more than enough heart attacks, thanks.
I'll pass on the spread.

Nutella tastes like chocolate peanut butter, but less sticky, and less dry, if that makes any sense. It's good stuff. They sell it in many supermarkets here on the east coast.

Since European sweets are far superior to American Sweets, why don't you share some with your friends on the Garage Journal? I am sure that we would all like to experience first hand what you are praising! :)

chocolate, if it wasn't for shipping I would buy you all a chocolate bar, well not all only those on the 'ok' list

Nutella is quite good, the peanut butter comparison is bang on, I hate peanut butter, its drier than a dry thing in the sahara.

Dink are the blue handles the stainless ones? Do you use them much? How do the allen keys hold up?
