Hello , I am in in process of finishing our basement . I have been thinking about useing some decorative gutters with some rope lighting in them on a dimmer switch. I have not seen this personally but I know it is done. Has anybody checked this out before, and what do you think. Any sugestion , Keith.

Like rain gutters? I think that will look tacky for sure...
We've got indirect fluorescent lighting in our house but its a real framed in sheetrocked ring around the whole room that the lights are mounted on (so you cant see the fixtures and they just project on to the ceiling).

Yes rain gutters , but nice copper gutters and not around whole room. I hope to get more response , good or bad.

You won't need a dimmer, rope light just has a glow to it,don't count on a lot of light from it.If you want something brighter, have a look at some LED or 20W puck lights.
