Is variable speed on an angle grinder useful?

Was looking at the Milwaukee model 6154-20 12 amp 4-1/2" angle grinder which goes from 4,000-11,000 rpm. Seems like having variable speed would make it more controllable than a single speed model for some tasks or would it? With 12 amp motor this should have enough power for about anything I'd ever do. Anyone have this model & if so, what do you think of it compared to any other grinders you have owned/used?

I'm out to get an angle grinder. Leaning towards a Bosch w/ the electronic speed stabilizer. It's available in single or variable speed.

Is the variable speed a better choice? This will be dedicated for grinding duty.

Thanks

I use alot of differnt angle grinders for numerous chores, JMO I wouldnt want one without variable speed its nice to be able to slow the tool down when full power isnt needed and somtimes safer. I been using alot of Matebos lately they seem pretty nice!!
