In the process of rebuilding my bandsaw I realized how nice an arbor press would be. I have a 20 ton HF press that resides in another room, it's too much of a PITA to use for pressing out small bearings ETC. Anyone use one of the cheapies you can find on fleabay for $40 or $50? I'm looking for something I can mount on a bench. Any brand name recommendations? I used my large vice to press the bearings off the shaft, I'd like to purchase the right tool for the job.

3 ton Greenerd arbor press. $100 off of Craig's List. 1972 vintage, Govt surplus. Nicest ones are like the Dake with a ratchet like mechanism so that no matter how high or low the ram is, the handle can be positioned for best leverage.
Possibly you can find one on Ebay nearby.

I just looked at the Dake catalog and it looks like a 00 or a X model will fit his requirement of less than 40 lbs. I didn't know they made them that small, they are only 9" tall... The smallest ratcheting model is 160 lbs.

Usually there are lots of the small Dake presses on Ebay. Shipping up to about 75 lbs should not be a problem.

Don't need it to be 40 lbs but I also don't want 140.
BMW, I think you need to paint that press, it looks out of place on the Lista cabinet:bounce:
What would you say yours weighs?

If I had to guess, I'd say about 15 lbs.

Same with me, seldom used, but nice when needed. Mine is a Dake, not counting the ram the overall height of the body of mine is around 16-18" tall.
