I'll start off by saying I wish they had the whole line of GearWrench screwdrivers - next to that I wish they had the whole line of GearWrench ratchets. :)
What about you, what don't they have you wished they had?

I wish Sears still had the snack/candy counter like when I was a kid. I'd get some Maple Nut Goodies or Whoppers whild Mom & Dad shopped.

That would be nice. I would also like to see a corn-dog stand with a squeeze bottle of mustard.

Kmart used to have cafeterias and food (there is a little one now near the door with pretzels, drinks, etc.); Longs Drug Stores I think, used to have that ice cream stand near the door that had scoops that looked like a cylinder shape when put on your cone.... as a kid, I always looked forward to that! :)
Tool-wise: how about everything that is marked "catalog/online exclusive" in the catalog?

That would be nice, especially the ability to see and feel the tools before purchase.
I wish Craftsman would make the 4 way angle wrenches like Snap-On and others. (like these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Snap-On-7-16-4-Way-Angle-Wrench-VS14B-NICE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a 2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q 3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZite m250335188186QQitemZ250335188186QQptZMotorsQ5fAuto motiveQ5fTools ) I bought the S-O ones since Cman didn't offer them and if they ever do they should make them like thier Pro wrenches, not the raised panel.

You know, the Kmart cafes used to have some of my favorite hot dogs as a kid!! The dogs were good and they had the "sandwich bread" style buns that they would toast and put a light coat of butter on. Yum!!!

The freakin' toolbox I want. None of the stores in the area have them in stock.

The tool inventory could always be better, but I just wish they had a few sales clerks that gave a damn about the customer. They need to clone Billymade and send him out to all the stores. I hate it when they're just to lazy to look for something you know they sell.

I agree with Itzkwik, there's only two guys at my local sears that know what is going on, the rest are all lost in the clouds somewhere. I actually heard one of them recommend companion over a pair of craftsman utility cutters. The cutters were on sale for like 7 bucks, and they were recommending companion!
It would also be nice if they had the SK stuff in stock, and the larger sets of professional screwdrivers. Theres a good deal of stuff I would buy if I could try it first.

I wish they had a "try it all out" table with samples and test setups.
I wish their website had unconditional free shipping or "ship to store" for all products.

A website that's worth a damn. If it weren't for Billy, Stuey, and some others I couldn't find a good sale item if I tried. They have all these special codes, member discounts, coupons, "secret handshakes" -- whatever. It would be better if they just posted the sales in a general section and be done with it.

Yup me to, I would love to be able to check out the SK stuff first hand.
Also if it were not for thieves I would be able to check out the sockets and ratchets as well. They are all behind glass now:mad:

I wish my local Sears had a 1/2" drive 3/4" deep socket. They have been out of stock from 9-22.

I wish they had more of the "automotive speciality" tools in the stores, they have a lot on their website. But usually when I need something like that, I need it right now, and I don't have time for shipping.
Also it would be nice to more SK in the stores.

They're far from being the only retailer that does that, and others are much worse.
Take MSC and Enco for example - they will sometimes have two product pages for the same product - one at a sale price, one at regular price.
But, Sears.com does have unique chaos - a 6 chisel set with an 18.5lb spec weight, sales that don't register at checkout, certain Craftsman Club discounts that don't appear online, and more.

Same here. Doubt I would buy any SK stuff, but would like to at least play with it in the stores.

Snap on tools.
Also wish the local store had their act together. They are always out of the same stuff because someone hangs the wrong thing on the wrong hook and they order by empty hooks according to the the tool guy I always talk to.
The entire tool catalog in store stock.

For me, I'd start off just wishing that they kept their shelves stocked with what they say they should have. Walk into my local store at any given time and about 30% of the socket and wrench sizes that they have spaces for are empty... And 90% of the time it is the size I'm looking for it seems...

Impact sockets. My local Sears has a few but its only the small sets of about 5 or 6 that come in the plastic package. I wish they had their full assortment at the store. In addition I also wish they would sell the socket sets that they have in the catalog. I'd love to buy the super set that has every socket size and drive size from the store instead of having to order it off of the internet.

Impact sockets.
Same here. The Sears that I usually wind up at actually usually seems pretty well-stocked in the tool area, except for that. I haven't had any trouble getting what I want there, either- the older lady who works in the department can really help you if you halfway know what you're looking for. I was looking for a router this summer and thought they didn't have it- she knew that there was one in back of the bottom shelf in a locked cabinet. How? No idea, but she's cool. Other cool thing about this particular store is that it seems to be the scratch and dent cabinet place- there's always a chest or cabinet or cart in there that (literally) fell off a truck somewhere and got damaged. Sometimes one of the sides is caved in or there's a bent corner, and sometimes the whole thing is racked with inoperable drawers, but I always have to check myself when there's a big one there that's not hurt too bad for short money.
I wonder every time I'm in there how long the store will be there, though- there's always a massive inventory of clearance clothing, etc., that nobody seems to buy, I rarely run into many customers (granted I'm usually there middle of a weekday), and the mall it's an anchor store of is virtually empty. Such is life in the older part of Birmingham, I guess.

I just wish the pricing in stores would be close to online pricing. It seems like nowadays it's always better to buy online and do in-store pickup. The in-store sales are rarely that much of a savings, especially when they keep offering the same stuff over and over again.
